Electric Vehicle Rentals For Vacation

If you’re tired of high gas prices, here’s how to rent an electric (or hybrid) car

Rent an electric car from one of the big rental companies

1) Hertz
2) Enterprise

Prices range between $65 and $120 per day.

New technologies are constantly evolving to make automobiles of the future eco-friendly. As a result, EVs are becoming very popular with car rental companies. Driving an electric vehicle is easier than you might think. They operate a little differently than a combustion vehicle, but you will get used to them quickly. Tesla and Polestar are particularly easy to adapt to. The tricky part is turning them on and shutting them down, so be sure to ask your representative at the rental car company. Finally, embrace your love of technology and the environment with an electric car rental. These modern car rental vehicles boast state-of-the-art technology for a smooth, safe drive like no other. With an electric car, you can have it all. They don’t have emissions. They offer luxurious interiors and the latest entertainment and safety features.

Many cities are moving towards electric points, and charging stations are readily available. As we are witnessing today, not only the cities that are receiving this treatment but smaller towns and suburbs are also attracting attention, allowing more and more people to consider switching to electricity. Furthermore, with mass production projects from large companies such as BMW and Tesla, the automobile market is shifting toward electricity. Most rental car companies only rent out the most recent vehicles on the market, so indulge yourself in an environmentally friendly, technologically advanced car rental.

EVs will make up more than 20 percent of the company’s global fleet. Hertz is also establishing 3,000 chargers in 65 U.S. destinations, including airports (like Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, San Francisco International Airport, and Orlando International Airport) and neighborhood locations, by year’s end—with more coming in 2023. The announcement marks a rise from the ashes for Hertz, which went from a pandemic-induced brush with bankruptcy to a boundary-pushing EV marketing campaign pitched by NFL star Tom Brady (an EV driver himself).

Gas-Free Road Trip: Consider a Tesla Car Rental

It’s not fun trying to find any cars right now. That’s true of rental cars, whether they are “green” or not. My colleague Andrew Kunesh wrote an in-depth article that covers the trend nicely. Many rental companies sold off inventory at the height of the pandemic. Now, the surge in demand is meeting a much lower supply of cars. It’s hard to buy cars, too — though many attributes that issue to the shortage of necessary parts on the assembly line.

There is not an extensive selection of electric cars in Alaska, but a search in Los Angeles found a glut of electric vehicles available. They included a Tesla Model S for $320 a day, a Tesla Model X for $252 a day, and a Toyota Prius Prime for $68 a day.

To feel more confident before jumping into your EV rental, you should watch tutorials from rental car companies or manufacturers. And if you have questions, ask the rental-car people.

.
Tesla has a network of more than 30,000 Supercharger stations globally. The easiest way to find them is through the car’s Trip Planner, which calculates your route with Superchargers. Unfortunately, the tool shows stall availability at each station; you can’t reserve a charging station in advance.

The Tesla Supercharger can bring your battery up to 200 miles in about 15 minutes. Most stations charge a fee, depending on your electricity usage and plug-in time (some have on-peak and off-peak rates). If you charge your rental at a third-party station, you pay on the spot. With a Tesla station, Hertz charges the credit card associated with your rental.

The 3 Cities With The Most EV Chargers

1) Los Angeles
2) San Diego
3) Atlanta

Traveling to Puerto Rico

Helpful Things To Know Before Traveling to Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is a beautiful island that many have the pleasure of visiting. However, some people either forget or don’t bother to search online as to what can make their trip run more smoothly. This article will give you helpful tips on traveling around the island and tips for those venturing from the island as well!

First off, if you are traveling from the United States, make sure that all of your paperwork is in order before going through customs. Make sure your passport is up-to-date and make sure to have a printed copy of it in case anything happens while going through customs. Keep in mind that Puerto Rico is a United States territory and therefore citizens of the United States do not require a passport to travel (ID card will suffice). Again, make sure all of your paperwork is in order.

Please take note that if you are traveling from another country to Puerto Rico, you may need your passport to enter the island. Make sure to check with an agent before boarding your flight that you will be able to re-enter your country (in case you need another visa to stay with the destination country, etc.)

Be aware that Puerto Rico is not using the American dollar as its currency. The island’s official currency is the U.S. Dollar but many stores, restaurants and hotels will accept both currencies (American versus local) however it is advised to use the island’s currency as much as possible. You can exchange your cash money at any of the island’s banks and you will definitely need cash money if you plan on doing tours, activities or dining at resorts. Credit cards are accepted in most stores but again, it’s best to keep local currency on hand.

Be aware that Puerto Rico does not observe Daylight Savings Time. This means that in the wintertime (November to March) it will be one hour earlier than mainland United States and in the summertime (April to October) it will be one hour later than mainland United States.

When leaving Puerto Rico, you are advised to fill out a customs form when departing from either San Juan, Aguadilla, or Ponce airports. This form will need to be presented at your final destination.

Always have a printed copy of all itineraries including hotels, tours, and other activities you plan on doing while visiting Puerto Rico. Many people lose cell phone service when traveling here which means that if you rely on GPS apps to guide you, you might get lost. You can always call the company or hotel that your itinerary is with to ask for directions, etc.

Make sure to research online about any places you plan on visiting so you know what to expect and also see what precautions need to be taken to interact with the public/environment (if it’s a beach setting, what can be touched or stepped on, etc.).

Keep in mind that Puerto Rico is an island which means that most things are not accessible by car. Make sure to rent a car with GPS so you have the ability to get around easily without getting lost. It’s also best if your driver knows how to drive on the opposite side of the road. Make sure to look before crossing!

A great tip is to bring a portable charger for your cell phone. If you are the type of person who constantly needs their phone for music, games, etc. make sure that wherever you are you will have access to electricity in order to charge it. Puerto Rico is very humid which means that if you are out exploring for a long time, you will drain the battery quickly.
If you are planning on doing tours, make sure to ask about schedules and if their pick-up times fit well with your itinerary. If not, make sure that there is another company nearby where you can take the tour from instead.
Puerto Rico is well-known for its beaches and resorts. If you plan on doing tours, make sure to research which resorts accept non-guests and dress appropriately (covering shoulders and knees) when entering some of them.
Do not be afraid to ask questions. There is nothing wrong with asking general questions about the island (i.e. what time dinner starts at a resort, what can be touched at the beach, etc.) Don’t hesitate to ask if you are unsure about your plans.

Book tours in advance! If there is something that you specifically want to do/see while on the island, make sure to book it ahead of time so you don’t miss out. Keep in mind that tours are limited so it is best to book them as early as possible.

Things To Know About Booking a Cruise

A cruise can be a great way to explore new locations and have fun doing it. It’s a relaxing vacation option that has been around for decades, but because of its recent growth in popularity, booking a cruise can still seem daunting. Here are things to know about booking a cruise.

Sailings Are Scheduled Hundreds of Days in Advance

With the recent boom of cruises, ship sizes have increased and there is a wider variety of ships which means that it’s possible to find some great deals. Cruise lines schedule their sailings months and even years in advance, so you may need to book your cruise well in advance (up to a year) before you actually want to go on the trip.

Pricing is Varying and Priceline is Your Best Friend

Cruise lines base their price on multiple factors including the time of year, the ship’s location, and demand for cabins. When booking your cruise, you can expect to pay full price if you are traveling during the busy summer or holiday seasons. There are, however, other options for travel available both via the cruise line and other websites like Priceline.

Cruise Pricing is Based on Stateroom Type

The type of stateroom you book will determine how much your cruise costs. The cheapest rates will be for the interior rooms, which are the most basic and don’t have windows. If you book a stateroom with a window, expect to pay more. Larger cabins such as suites will cost even more.

Cabins For Two People Cost Extra

Most cruise lines will charge an extra fee if you want to share a room with a friend or family member. If you want to share a cabin, be sure to ask if it’s possible and what the cost will be before booking your cruise.

Cruise Lines Have Loyalty Programs

If you sign up for your first cruise as soon as possible, you can earn points towards free future cruises. This is usually done by paying for your first cruise with a credit card and then registering your account information before the trip. These loyalty programs vary between different cruise lines, but they can be a great way to save money on future cruises.

No Cruise Will Be Exactly What You Expect

You may have dreamt about cruising for years and visited multiple websites to learn the different types of cabins and amenities available, but no cruise is ever exactly like you imagined. This is fine because many people find that they enjoy cruises more than they expected when they finally take off. Don’t worry too much about booking a perfect cabin or planning every moment of your trip in advance, just be ready for an adventure!

Cruises are the perfect option for people who want to explore new destinations without having to worry about packing or planning. If you’re thinking of booking a cruise, use this article as your guide with tips on how to find deals and what types of cabins are available for purchase. What Is The Purpose Of A Staycation

A staycation is a special vacation that takes place at your home rather than a traditional vacation.  Many people use their staycations as an opportunity to relax and unwind by catching up on household chores, spending time with family, or going on a day trip.  However, some people take their staycation as an opportunity to go out and explore their own city.  What is the purpose of a staycation?

The purpose of a staycation varies depending on who you ask.  Some people like to use it as an opportunity to relax, while others want to get away from home for a while.  Many believe that taking a trip with no set destination helps to make the vacation even more relaxing.  The sense of adventure that comes with exploring your own city can be extremely refreshing.

For some, a staycation is simply an opportunity to get away from the stress of the daily grind while still being able to come back home at night.  Household chores are always neglected during a traditional vacation, but having to go home at night will give you the opportunity to clean up and get everything back in order.

Taking a staycation can also be an inexpensive way to enjoy the summer.  With no need for plane tickets or hotel reservations, people can spend their money on activities for themselves or their family instead of spending it all on a hotel room.  This is one of the most popular reasons that people take a staycation in the summertime.

Even if you don’t like to spend your time cleaning or exploring, you can still use your staycation as an opportunity to catch up on movies and television shows that you missed when they were originally aired.  Reruns are always shown during the summer months, so it’s an excellent time to catch up on all of your favorite shows.
For some people, taking a staycation is simply not enough to get them out of their daily routine.  After staying at home for several days in a row, they begin to feel restless and need something more than television and household chores to keep them occupied.  This is when they pack up and head out on a road trip.

Road trips are an excellent way to take your staycation to the next level, but be sure you have a predetermined destination in mind before you leave.  If not, then there’s no telling where you might end up!  But if you do have a set destination, then road trips can be an excellent way to explore your own country and enjoy the company of your friends and family.

Road trips aren’t for everyone though, so some people choose to turn their staycation into a full-on vacation by heading out of the country. International travel is an excellent way to blow all of your money at once, but it can also be a fantastic experience.  Just make sure you know what you’re doing before you book that ticket!

Whether you choose to stay close to home or head off on an extravagant vacation, a staycation can be a wonderful experience as long as you do something fun with your time. So what is the purpose of a staycation?  The only way to find out is to try it for yourself!
